Gord is a graduate of the University of British Columbia. He obtained his Chartered Accountant designation in 1979 and his Chartered Insolvency and Restructuring Professional designation in 1985. Gord joined Wolrige Mahon on February 1, 2004 and is a partner in the firm’s Bankruptcy and Insolvency Group.
Gord provides a range of business advisory services to secured lenders and financially distressed debtors, including:
• For Secured Lenders: assessing the recoverable value of problem / delinquent loans and, where a workout strategy is in put in place, monitoring the debtor’s progress;
• For Secured Lenders: acting as Receiver, Receiver-Manager or Agent to recover and realize on the lender’s
• For Financially Distressed Debtors: assisting with the development and implementation of workout strategies, working in co-operation with secured lenders in an informal setting;
• For Financially Distressed Debtors: assisting with the development and implementation of workout strategies, designed to restructure the debtor’s financial and business operations, under formal creditor protection proceedings (the Bankruptcy & Insolvency Act or Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act).
Gord serves as a member of the Travel Industry Advisory Group, an advisory group to British Columbia’s Business Practices & Consumer Protection Authority.
Gord’s personal interests include coaching his daughters in softball and soccer, as well as playing hockey, golf and skiing.
